Did you know...?

All the atoms in your body, with the exception of hydrogen and helium (there
isn't much of that) were created in stars, and blasted into space by stellar
explosions such as supernovae.

Observation: 20/07/2009: The best of Jupiter + Messier 27 Print E-mail

Messier 27 (Dumbbell nebula)Since we've managed to get the best out of manual object guiding, we've on a rampage! OK, maybe we have too much free time on our hands. Anyway, the sky last night was amazing. Finally(knock, knock Murphy). We finally captured the Dumbbell nebula, Messier 27 in Vulpecula - one of the best planetary nebulae in the summer. Here it is on the left!

Jupiter - this time the best one!

After Dumbbell, we took a shot at Jupiter, although capturing him a couple of days ago - the sky was clearer and Jupiter's altitude was higher. And it paid off! You can see the Great Red Spot on the south east of the disc. A good example how weather conditions can affect the final picture.

This is part of Jacinto history that should be preserved forever. Back in college my friends used to freestyle rap at parties.
